------------------------------
5 spoonfuls clay
1 sponful olive stone and almond shell powder
( alternatively, 2 spoonfuls quinoa or raw sesame seeds)
distilled water or alternatively, water which you have boiled first.

levander and tea tree essential oils

Mix the ingredients and add water, stirring until you get a thick mud. It doesn't have to be perfectly smooth, little clumps will smoothen out with your fingertips when you use it.

Put two to three drops of tea tree oil and two to three drops levander oil. The essential oils have antimicrobial properties and have a cleansing effect especially on oily skin with big pores and blackheads. In addition, the essential oils act as mild preservatives of the finished product.

Attention: do not use the scrub if you have acne. Acne apropriate version follows.

How to use:
Work the scrub with your fingertips in circular movements without adding extra pressure. Then apply a couple more layers of mud and leave on the face until it feels dry and cracky. Wet fingertips and work it again in circular movements. Rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry. Use once to twice a week. Store in the fridge and use up within a couple weeks.

Note: this amount is enough for only a few applications, because without preservatives the scrub will start becoming fluffy with fungus after ten days. That's why the mix will have to be used up within two weeks and kept in the fridge. For longer storage, make a mix with the dry ingredients and the essential oils. If you would like to make a mix that will last longer, mix only the dry ingredients and essential oils in double amounts. Then when you want to use, take two fullspoons of the mix and mix with a bit of water to make the mud.

For acne, scrubs are not recommended. Just make a mud with clay and water, apply layer by layer until dry, and rinse well with lukewarm water. Follow dabbing the skin with a cotton pad trank with a natural toner, ideally levander water but also rose water or orange blossom water are fine. The mask can be used every other day.
