Versatile Fake Indian Lentils
Take "red" lentils (they're actually orange-coloured and I call them indian lentils), rinse them and cook them in water double their size on low fire for 10 mins. Stir often and watch out in cese you need to add a little more water. Then add a good amount of ready indian sauce of choice -masala, curry, mango chutney...I prefer lime chutney. That's it!
Very quick and tastes as if you just ordered in from the indian take-away. To fake it as home-made, sprinkle some fresh coriander or other oriental herb on top.

* a meal on its own right, since it has a good balance of carbs and protein.
* a spicy spread or dip.
* works as spicy sauce on pasta or rice (preferably whole-grain)
* or add water and make an oriental soup out of it.
